But it is working perfectly well. If you are a safe/aware driver then the hit you took yesterday will be regained and more by the end of today. If you cant get promoted from rookie or D to the next level within a couple of days then there is something wrong with your driving, end of story.
SR is ridiculously easy to gain in the lower license levels. If anything it should be way tougher than it currently is.
There no reason for them to waste resources further developing a system that works perfectly well.
Unless you are the unluckiest racer on the planet or an unsafe driver you're not going to loose your license or fail to get promoted to a higher license.
If Vettel crashed into Hamilton does Vettel have to pay for the damage to Hamiltons car? Nope. They (or the teams in that case) both have to pay for their own repairs, even though it was Vettels fault.
There is nothing wrong with the SR system. It goes up and it goes down.
Any half competent driver will have their SR go up more than down. If it goes down more than it goes up then you have to look at yourself.
Everyone gets caught up in other peoples mistakes now and again. If it's happening to you so often that your SR is never rising then you need to learn some accident avoidance skills.
I don't care how doubtful you are, you make it 23x more likely that it will.
That is such a huge rise in the probability of having an accident that you would have to be completely retarded to take that risk in what is already a dangerous activity.
It's no good taking the blame for something when you've already killed someone.
You cant take the blame for something when you're already dead.
Taking responsibility is being proactive, not reactive!
Taking responsibility is doing everything in your power to prevent an accident happening in the first place, not holding your hands up after you've already killed someone and saying "yes , I'm to blame"
If your actions made a plane crash 23x times more likely would you do it?
If you went skydiving, but did something that made it 23x more likely to kill yourself doing it, would you do it?
Then you truly are one of the most stupid people I've come across.
I just hope you don't take someone else with you when you kill yourself.
You are a novice driver for a reason...you have no experience and limited skill. Passing your test just means you know the absolute basics. Once you have 10 years driving experience under your belt then you might be able to consider yourself a good driver. (if you've actually learnt something over those years)
If you don't even see the issue with you sending a "simple text message" then you should have your license revoked. Simple as that. You're not fit to drive. You have no concept of the dangers of what you do. You should notbe allowed to set foot anywhere near a car.
Driving is a privilege. It's one of the most dangerous thing we do in our daily lives. You are willing to risk your own and other peoles lives because you cant wait 1 min to pull over somewhere to write/receive a text? That is so incredibly selfish and stupid it's untrue.
What a load of bollocks. Come off it Dustin, I don't believe for a second that you are really so stupid that you believe what you've just written.
If I said snorting cocaine is safer than injecting heroin does that mean I'm indirectly advocating snorting cocaine? Of course not.
Anyway, no one has said that getting drunk and driving is safer as you well know. What was said is that using a mobile whilst driving is more dangerous than driving whilst at the US legal limit for alcohol. That is a fact. Just because you may not believe it doesnt make it untrue.
Texting whilst driving is even more dangerous. It's ridiculously stupid. As Blue Flame said (hooray..we agree on something for once! ) It's a shame they even have to make videos like this to make people realise how stupid and dangerous texting whilst driving is. Don't you get told this stuff when you get driving lessons/take your test over there? Not that they should have to tell you mind you. It's common sense for most people.
Not true at all. You wont get splits very often apart from the big Sunday race and maybe one on Friday, but nearly all Euro prime time races go official.
Quite frankly it's what make the series a lot better than many others in iRacing. You don't end up racing a bunch of random people, you really get to know the guys in the community and build up some great rivalries. Much more of a league atmosphere in the Lotus.
The car is an acquired taste. But if you acquire that taste you'll probably find it to be the best car in the sim
Fantastic community of drivers in the Lotus. Cleanest and friendliest group I've raced with in iRacing. Wide range of talent. Best behaved backmarkers. A real "gentleman's racing club atmosphere" around the Lotus.
Not as busy as some other series, but interest seems to have grown quite a lot this season.
Take a punt and come and join us. If you get on with the car you'll have a ball.
